minor vent

at the beige i have to do a list of monotonous tasks. tedious tasks with little steps, proofing, double-checking type steps. lately i am also training someone while simultaneously my work load has increased a little. my work is proofed and published by other people. it is their job to catch mistakes, fix things I missed etc. one can imagine that slogging through large batches of work with lots of details that mistakes will happen. yesterday I made two mistakes, small mistakes, which i happily corrected in literally two minutes. today i come in to find an email that is addressed to all who do my particular brand of work at the beige. It lists all the common mistakes and asks us to be more careful, my mistakes being at the top of the list. do my two mistakes make such an email warranted? of course I realize i need to be more careful. this happens naturally when mistakes are pointed out, but for chrissakes. it's stupid, i shouldn't be this annoyed. but i am.

I always feel horrible after making mistakes at a job. It's funny how even though you think you don't care about something, you want people to perceive you as being competent anyway. That sucks FB, that they had to send around an email. Infantilizing.

what most angers me is that it's not that I don't understand the process or don't get something but that i feel that if i make a normal mistake it's some kind of big problem. and it isn't. if i repeatedly made this mistake on every piece of work for a couple of days that's one thing but to just miss something sometimes is normal and should be expected. grrr.

i don't need an email about it addressed to all. i don't know, maybe errors are running rampant with everyone but somehow i doubt. oh, what a tragedy. I forgot to link a table in an article and I had to go back and fix it. kill.

I have started re-immersion this morning but keep taking breaks, for fear of ruining. Must focus this afternoon. I needed to commune with my blog friends in order to proceed into the paints. I hope your day improves FB!! Maybe you need candy to make up for the evil. Candy helps, is my motto.

i wish you much lucky shamrocks. I had a good eve in the shack last night, finally feeling a little more on track which makes the beige more and more heinous. feeling antisocial. reading a how-to-install a fence guide.

Fairy, once you learn how to install the fence you must put them up everywhere. Keep out the scumbuckets.

fences everywhere. you are correct mm. i would love to quit today.

i am considering a space bag in the flesh. or maybe i will buy a knitted face cap with eyeholes only. This will be my brain fence. and no one will bother me at the beige with this on.

you're story of beige makes me writhe in pain. I hope it is going better for you now.
