Greetings from Peanut

IMG_1377

Peanut has some fleas. He also likes to yell constantly to go outside and then get in fights with the alleycats. It happened again the other evening. Hampaw was witness while Peanut turned his ire onto Damian. Only, so he claims, a little scratch. Yikes. Why do I have such an uncontrollable cat when other cats come into the yard? We have devised a new method of spraying everyone with the hose. It seems to work. No hawk gloves were necessary.

There is not much happening here. i have finished the tech book. I sort of knew most of it but it was good to put the knowledge into more of a framework. It was boring to read. Hell boring. Maybe it will infuse my aura with knowledge so I do not turn idiotic for interview Wednesday. I am tempted to do no more prep for interview, but must resist temptation. I must comb through the boring websites and look like I know something about this company I guess I want to work for. Sigh.

Allrighty. Just a shout to all yous. I will depart with a pic of the favorite new flower.

I am full of garden envy FB - is that shocking flower a day lily or iris or what? Fleanut is right to defend that flower.

oh fb, that flower is dreamy. wish I could smell it through the monitor.

greetings peanut. you look like a tough lil' nut.. I bet you could kick my ass. I will not mess with you.

JD said...

FB, your flower is gorgeous. A lily?

Sloth is right: Peanut looks like a long-shoreman kind of a cat. Does he have any tatoos?

Hi FB. Hi Peanut and flower. FB, I am wondering, if pus starts coming out of your brain onto your food is that bad?

Corny said...

That flower is beeeautiful and looks gargantuan. Peanut looks like a sweet/hooligan. If i was a flee I'd seek him out.

Jd, I bet he has a tat of Fb on his forearm and a can of tuna on his chest. Am i right?

JD said...

corny, yes, I think a tuna tatoo is exactly right.

mm, I think the pus flow is a concern. Why is this happening?

Anonymous said...

JD, when are you going to start your blog? Your fans are waiting.

Anonymous said...

Yeah JD start it! We are here to egg you on. You are smarter than most. But no pressure. Hey and the pus flow, fyi, it's just becoming part of my cereal. I am no longer concerned. Brain damage and oats are a good combo.

yo, the flower is a daylily. ya guessed it. i am thinking peanut would look pretty sweet with a white nylon doorag. since arthur refuses to wear one....

corny, is your fridge fixed yet? are you ready to have your foster care meats back?

fairy butler said...

agreed that jd should start the blog! mm, i am sorry about the pus flow. nature is a mysterious trollop, her ways vixen and devious, charming and sinister.

Anonymous said...

FB you are right about nature. This could be the start of a nice limerick. I found a book called the "Fairy Land of Science" that I think would be perfect for you. You are channeling it.

JD said...

You are all charming me with your blog-starting suggestions. I vacillate, though, because of my fears of blogging eclipsing artmaking and, in fact, my ever leaving the house. How does one curb the addiction???? But it may happen. . . one of these days. . . I do have ideas.

I think Peanut would look super-fly in a do-rag.

Did anyone read the article in the Times a while ago about the Chinese-American rap group, Notorious MSG? I am not kidding about this.

Corny said...

Hi. The fridge is working again and has new mystery odor not unsimilar to fish!
Should I get the meat tomorrow? Otherwise will have to wait till we're back from a trip on the 17th. Can you email me your number?

please forgive me. i am nervous about interview. why is it pouring buckets of rain today for this? ugh. I do not think i can blog or have fun until later. must keep mind active with mundane tasks. distracted. cannot participate in fun. i will report back in later today. you are all the greatest

Anonymous said...

Good lucks Fb!! I know you'll kick ass. Please report.

lots of hearts to you!

dubz said...

Wishing you the best of luck FB. You will be great.

sloth said...

fb, you will wow them with your talents many. this I know. xo

sloth said...

pee ess, the rain is actually good luck. Peanut told me this.

good luck on your interview FB! You will do great!
PS. Damian is fine! It was only a little scratch for real. That flower is lovely too.

sloth said...

fb, I think peanut's tough-guy behavior is still within the parameters of "normal." In contrast: last night, log cat Scout jumped up on the bed & used the sleeping sloth-body as a scratching post, leaving claw marks down neck, shoulder & arm.

fairy butler said...

sloth, maybe scout is leaving "love claws?" claw-kisses? peanut's behavior is normal-ish - just a little over the top with the intruders to territory. he turns into a lil' demon. the vocalizations are the special treat.

fairy butler said...

ACK i am back from the interview. I guess it went well. The dude seems very nice and normal. I tried to ask questions, tried to seem knowledgeable and un-spazzy although I got a little goofy. Why am I so WEIRD? UGH.

But, the job sounds perfect for me. Learning and pay and within my scope of knowledge. He kept wanting me to explain how I code something. And my answer was - well I look at it and organize it and then I do it? So then I tried to give better and more detailed examples. Garh. So hard to say. I think I might have a chance at it though. depending on the competition.... ok. trying to contain mental illness.

fairy butler said...

tards unite in the spazzathon of replaying interview in head.

dubz said...

sounds good fb. i hope it pays one million dollars and leaves you a lot of free time. i bet you wowed him. knocked his sox off, so to speak.

sloth said...

YAY fb!!! you did great, I feel it in me bones. They would be fools not to hire you IMMEDIATELY.

Anonymous said...

dubz, this is the question. the free time and if there will be any. if i care. at this point i am just so sick of working all the time and not really earning money that I just HAVE to move forward. Maybe it is wrong to lessen up on the relic stuff but the faith slips. the way is lost in the darkness. this is a contract job that ends end of year. so I could get out.

Anonymous said...

you guys are too good to me. thank you for all the kind words!!!

dubz said...

so it's perfect - one year to see if it's worth making the big bucks. probably is. if not you can escape. the relic werk is tough. the future lurks. freaks me out that people my age have $ in the back and equity and all that stuff. i have zero. nada. zilch.

so, BRILLIANT IDEA! i am thinking about quitting the donut shoppe. it's getting too corporate and they just gave me new and undelightful tasks. plus a show of relics in the fall is on my mind. i want to concentrate. am i nutz?

dubz said...

sorry to vent. rude.

Anonymous said...

dubz, i know. it's so hard to know what to do. the undelightful tasks at the donutshoppe sound undelightful. I am always pro-quitting, but if it will totally throw you financially then i don't know if it's worth it. i fantasize about quitting work to have time in the studio. then I jsut spend said time worrying about money and art career. but it could just be me.

Anonymous said...

dubz, you are not rude at all. pro-venting on this blog. it is encouraged here.

i have to actually work for bit know. sadly. i will check in later...

Anonymous said...

FB!!! Congrats on an interview that sounds like it went very well. They would be idiots not to hire you. You will get it and make lots of dough and get to ride dirty all you want.

Anonymous said...

Dubz, I hear you. Especially since they do not get your brilliant sense of humor.

JD said...

FB, congrats on the interview! You are sounding a little tiny bit less self-deprecating than usual, so I think that must mean you KNOW it went pretty well. Pardon me for overstepping. . . (I myself am a champion self-deprecator!) but I bet you came across as super-cool.

I am, in general, always pro-quitting as well. Everybody quit, now.

Anonymous said...

hurray FB! I am sure you were great. Positive because you know your stuff and smart. It is always difficult making the art and working the job. You will figure out the timing and continue with the making. BTW, I was looking at a blog in LA and there was a picture of your buffalo in it. Cools

Anonymous said...

a blog in Louisiana? bizarro. i am curious hams. what is it called? do you remember?

i have to write a thankyou email to this dude. can't do it, keep stalling. bad fb.
