last post before take-off

soon we are outta here for a bit of r&r. most everything has been dealt with. the fence guy just came to collect his money and some things were clarified for me. he is a 7th day adventist and gave me a bunch of handouts and introduced me to his wife and children. it was sweet really. he is a good guy and while i don't believe in the imminent second coming... whatever, right? ham paw, do you know anything about this religion? it seems less scary than the mormons..?? Except for the hand out on the 9/11 as earth's final warning.

ok. so, yup. i can't believe i will soon be frolicking in the sunshine and such.

fb, in my mind's eye you are turning cartwheels on the beach in a flowery sarong, martini in hand miraculously not spilling a drop.

slothy, I think that is the perfect picture of an FB on vacation.

Did you chase some turtles? Do tell!

fairy butler said...

hola otra vez! toodles, we only saw the turtle flippers here and there out in the surf - no turtles up close sadly! i think it was too early. their nesting season starts in a couple of weeks. but arthur spotted 2 manta rays and of course all the pretty fishes at yal-ku. the condo we stayed in kicked ass - we totally lucked out there. huge, wide open right on the beach. really clean, nice ocean breezes and airconditioning to sleep with. kitchen, hammock, etc. arthur does a mean hammock dance i have found, especially to sean paul.

tulum was a hot motherfucker and i was a teensy bit sick so I wasn't super into it. but we did a centoe snorkel - snorkeling in an underground cave. freah water, stalatites and such. you wear a wet suit and drive out to the inner jungle and then go down into the earth. i felt connected to the mole people although the cold water got to me after a while. shivery. maybe i can post a few pics of the caves. they were sweet. ham paw, i thought of you.

most of out time was spent sitting and staring. some drinks, more staring, a little swim, etc.

yay! "happy place" found!

fairy butler said...

sorry for my typos... cenote is the underwater cave and stalagtite. whatever. yes, toods, thanks for recommending!!

So glad you are back FB! Missed you sooooooo much.

FB, was snorkeling in the caves akin to being under the slabs in some way?

fairy butler said...

kind of yes, i could her the beating heart of the collective mining moles. actually the caves reminded me of a scene in the last harry potter book. it was real wizardy down there. i will need to post some pics of it tonight.

krix, if you down to tulum you and kit HAVE to go to cave snorkel/dive.

FB, if we go we are going for a week so I'm sure there will be time. That stuff creeps me out but I will do it anyway.

On the scale of creepiness

caves = low
snakes = medium
spiders = high
sharks = *heart attack*

did you see any sharks? Mantas are close relatives. *shudder*

Anonymous said...

glad you had fun FB!! We will have to talk.

sloth said...

i am with you there on the creeps scale, Krixy... and centipedes are between spiders and sharks for me.

Anonymous said...

I fear all of those things. I have dreams about critters.

fairy butler said...

no sharks, no snakes, minimal critters. i'm pretty ok with all that stuff though... strangely.

Bugs freak me. You know those reallly big waterbugs that come out in late summer and apear in your apt. for no good reason? I woke one night with one crawling on my face and I was so freaked I woke up pretty much every night for a week or so swating at my face.

:(

Tood, that happened to me in Chicago. I was so freaked for years after. Every summer I wait or them and think I see them out of the corner of my eye. It's awful.

FB you are still in the caves to me, you are lithe and waterbound. However, I miss you.

fairy butler said...

it's the caves here too arthur. super caves.

speaking of... i hope to post some pics later today when the hunchback isn't lurking or scolding me. i burned a disc so i could post them here.
