FB, the narc

Last night arthur had a chance to chat with our neighbors for a bit. They were talking about the drug dealers down the block, like it was a known phenomenon, and how one night some dude passed out right in front of their place and our neighbor had to go yell at this dude, etc etc. The neighbors are funny and like to tell stories. Anyway, it got me annoyed. I have been talking to Arthur about the drug dealer aspiring rappers down the block for months now. We have watched cringing addicts trying to navigate their way to score. I have literally overheard a conversation out the window - "this is good product - the drugs are strong" something, no shit. These 50-centers always seem minorly hostile to me although i pretend to be an old lady when i walk by and never look at them. except the one day when i watched this guy meet his connection in a car, buy his supply (from a white dude in a nice-ish car), and then return to his homies. I stared and watched from my front door that day. Dunno why. Anyway, i have decided to call the cops tomorrow and give them a tip. We live across the street from a school, the weather is breaking, and I'm sick of this crap. There are kids playing on my street while this is going on. I am going to start making mental notes, writing down dates and times. If the beat cops would just make an effort to drive by and park outside the house every other day it might make some kind of a diff.

I'm just sick of having to dodge addicts on my way to the grocery store. I'll let you know what happens...

i am probably being naive in thinking that my call will make any difference, but i can be persistant if pushed. i just don't want it on my street you know? hard working immigrants with children trying to raise families with the little they have etc. no stupid aspiring rappers.

i keep wanting to ask these guys how their rap careers are going when i walk by them. but i know better. play dumb.

also, these dealers are a new development, must have moved in in the last 6 months, don't remember from last summer.

ha ha citizen's arrest. that would be sweet! buy and bust, even better.

i sort of want to ask them what they're dealing. just out of curiosity. maybe i can ask crazy johnny...

i used to live next door to a drug house and there was lots of drug activity on the corner. It was non-stop drive by, honk horn, dealer comes out carrying child in arms, transaction, drive away. All the neighbors called the cops and nothing changed with the drug house. BUT the corner activitiy came to an end. the corner dealers were white guys in fancy cars, jersey plates. the drug house was a section 8.

was this in richmond?

hi hammy! i miss you!

it gets frustrating when the dealing is so obvious, so blatant, one wonders why the police don't stop it or intervene, but it is probably very low level and they have other fish to fry? i dunno. i'm just not into all these desperado types walking by my house on a semi-daily basis is all.

I say narc away but be stealth and sneaky about it. The beat cops would prolly do something if there were beat cops. Or else someone is paid off.

Anonymous said...

be careful FB, they won't call the cops if they think it is you that is annoying them.

Anonymous said...

FB, make some calls, but be careful. This may be a job for a concealed slicer in your pocket. I have many battery-operated varieties...some of which play mp3s.

really, all i'm gonna do is phone in an 'anonymous' tip/complaint about dealing on my street. just ask that the cops drive by a bit more, they are probably paid off anyway but it will ease my conscience

I think you're doing the right thing FB. I am the first on my block to narc it UP! I freaking call all the time. Window smash! Domestic violence in the street (when a woman is screaming bloody murder and you hear the words "help me" then it is time to call. I don't care if they were just playin'.) Lady hit by car. I call all the time and the JCPD probably hates my guts but me no care. I pay taxes too.

i know krix. i am the caller too. i feel like i can't complain if i don't call you know. i don't want to be some sucker sitting around just 'minding my own business'. no.

call. It can't hurt.

fb, I remember when I first moved to that neighborhood; Clinton was still prez (sigh...) and I would see cops actually WALKING THE BEAT on our street. Then the fucking shrub got elected and they disappeared. I think Bush is partially responsible for the drug dealers on your street... fuckwad should have to deal with such problems for 5 minutes of his worthless life...

Anonymous said...

Why not get the fuckwad to walk the beat and see how long he lasts?!

once and awhile i have seen cops walking the beat on my street, on foot. i always wonder what's up when i see them. they installed this 'crime eye' camera patrol thing on the corner of the park near my house but i don't know if it actually does anything.

honestly i feel bad for the dealers kind of. they are just such suckers if they stay in it for long. the amount of money to be made ?? if you're gang-affiliated and low-level it's like minimum wage.

plus you maybe get to go to jail or get shot and you have to deal with addicts. what could be more fun?! there is so much room for growth.

it was a good day i didn't have to use my AK.

sociologically it's such a mess.

fairy butler said...

just sad to see these young guys fufill society's expectations for them, fufill their stereotypes.

As much as I like to narc my own self, I LOATHE AND DETEST AND HATE the cameras mounted on the poles in my hood. Doesn't stop the hold ups. Domestic survellience does nothing. It's only a deterrent, like the club.

Anonymous said...

But can the drug dealers draw? Trick them into a draw off and then if they lose they have to quit. If you lose you give them a show.

Anonymous said...

The cameras only help in potentially finding the guys after one is mugged and shot dead. Can we all really convince ourselves that there is someone monitoring the live feed with one hand on the batphone for immediate assistance? More like the camera in the elevator in my work building. I asked the doorman how often they changed the video tape, and he said "don't tell anyone..but that camera is just for looks...it's not hooked up to anything". NYC land of "how little do I have to actually do to go home with a paycheck at the end of the week and not get fired?..or if I do get fired, can I collecgt unemployment? ...and if that is the case, what is the best way to get fired?"

well said toodrager. did you buy your lotto ticket today?

I'm planning on slipping on a grape today so I can plan out my lotto-suit against the grape leavers.

I keep thinking about movies like "The Principal" where soem badass dude or dudette goes into the HOOD and solves the lives of a few good kids gone bad.

And yeah, Im waiting to get paid for my less work job - freelance sucks. Not only that bu someone thought I meant FREELANCE in a bar and I had to leave.

I tell you NYC is a meat grinder.

mmmmmm. Grindy.

The cops actually caught a guy breaking car windows on my block today.

Hi FB,
thank you for the tasty taste treat of art viewing last night. I'm very excited for you and your new paintings. The paintings of accumulation chalise and floating world embroidery was most exciting to see.

I blinked my eyes waking this morning and had a retina after image of The skatter buffalo, taunting me to do a 360 kick flip. he is still there , in my retina.
