computer boots

Computer boots come in many forms but all share these qualities:
1. at least 90% black
2. sneaker sole
3. the sole of the shoe is flat - 're-re-esque' rather than arched or athletic-ish. reebok is the king of the computer boot but i bet kinney and Kmart have also sold them at one time.
4. the hi-top is not important

These shoes roamed the halls of valley high when fb was a student. They caused squawking - alarm - disdain. They were everywhere. Arthur was even known to wear a computer-boot styled shoe at one time. They and their minions terrorized the aesthetics of time and place - the natural order of clothing, fashion, and anti-fashion. When they were paired with escalator pants (jeans that are shredded into long strips from the knee down - like they got stuck in an escalator) it was like a mini 9-11. There was a dude i referred to as escalator pants. Something got me thinking of computer boots this morn.

Here is the penultimate computer boot:

50 cent and G-unit have created this new modern take on the computer boot:

There is no moral to the story here.

and p.s., remembering arthur's rendition of "Rapper's Delight: The Whitey Version" caused many spontaneous chortles today.

Hmm, an orthodox mountain man... interesting... could work! we need to set you up with some adorable & curly earlocks. It can be one of your many incarnations.

(by the way ems, the beard-trim was performed au beige... it was actually tacked to the bulletin-board-type walls for the adornment ceremony. the cube was a fantastic mess of glitter, glue, leaf-bits, and pubic-looking hair. luckily, boss-man stayed away during the creative whirl.)
