Magnificent. You should do it, and then only eat green foods, like lime jell-o mold.

Hammy, were you referring earlier to the Broken Angel building in Clinton Hill? A friend lives 1 block from there. HFP and I are contemplating a move to the Clinto Hill/Fort Greene area, but are curious about BedStuy. That NYTimes article made it sound appealing, although we also have conflicting feelings about the gentrification problem.

YES! The very one. I was so happy to find it. That area is very nice and after I ran past the building a man started jogging with me to keep me company for a few blocks. It was weird. I don't think bedstuy is so bad. My area is too industrial to have any character. It seems to just be a dirty street that people in SUVs stop by to pee. sloth, thanks for the link. I love broken angel.

FB, yes to the lovely green basement and green foods!

HP, the Broken Angel is a wonder to behold. A labor of crazy love. Thank you for the thoughts about BedStuy, too. There is some really beautiful architecture around there.

sloth, I will continue running through clinton hill and bedstuy. I'll keep you posted if I see any forsales. I had no idea that Clinton Hill is so lovely until yesterday.

hi hp,
keep your eye out for 'for rentals" too. Maybe I just need to get my butt over there and look around myself.

I will Krix. It would be fun to have you and Sloth for neighbors!

I love that idea! We're really serious about moving to the area, and have even been going to open houses, but it will probably not happen until at least the spring. gotta get the current log in shape for sale.

I like green. I like houses. I like food and people.

Terrific idea, PD... there are many fun furnishings that can be made from clams: clam lamps, clam ashtrays, clam sconces, etc. etc. Can't wait to visit you in your new digs!

PD I stopped by your clamdiggers and you weren't there. Did you go out for sushi?

sloth said...

hairy back, is your back-hair also green? the hair of sloth is greenish.

I love clams and fried eggs. PD I saw you in the toilet pathways below the slabs. I loved you from afar, I was too shy to approach you, for I am tinged with green and shame. I want to mesmerize you with witty approaches but I don't have any right now.

Love,

Hairy Back

FB, HamPaw, and Sloth. . . I am looking on craigslist at Brooklyn apts. I am seeing many apts in my range in Clinton Hill/BedStuy area. . . I need some street parameters like "these blocks are okay but avoid this street, etc."

fairy butler said...

check on proximity to the train also Krix. that can be a prob over there.

fairy butler said...

come live by me!!! there are nice new refurbished apartments i have been watching right by the train. but i know.. it's kinda grody over there. {sadness}

Anonymous said...

grody does not bother me but commute time do. . .how long does it take you to get into manhattan-y?

Anonymous said...

pd, seems reasonable but the rents are definitely on the rise. I am thinking if I am going to make the leap, it would be nice to do it now and lock something in.

fairy butler said...

10 min walk to train (for me) - 20-30 minute train ride to 8th ave. far west side coming from east side. not bad commute.

Anonymous said...

that's not too bad. Looking for a place that is on an express train going into Penn station. I'll be working in jersey for a little while longer, however, I don't want to choose a place solely on what my commute is going to be like.

Anonymous said...

I am liking the idea of Brooklyn.

KRix, I think you need to be on the A/C line. You could definitly be in Clinton Hill with that line. It is funny how a few blocks can give you a completely different quality of life.

I am having a desperation day. I have to go to a personal development workshop tonight. (my friend is teaching it.) I can just imagine what I might say. I better keep it buttoned up.

fairy butler said...

is this workshop something beige-sponsored or something else?

Anonymous said...

It is the color of beige, yes. Foul.

Anonymous said...

yes hammy, why do you need to develop personally. I think you are already self-actualized. You are the most self-actualized of anyone.

Like anyone in that workshop would know anything about the hopscotch.

fairy butler said...

i agree. you should be leading the workshop, hp. sheesh.

Anonymous said...

thanks for your confidence in me! The u-shaped formation may be displayed tonight. I have peacock feathers inside me.

Anonymous said...

That's a great story. Waiting for more. »
